Expect The Unexpected

Just because God promises you something doesn’t necessarily mean you will experience it. You must mix faith with the promise in order for it to come to pass for you. Sometimes in the midst of lack, it’s hard to believe that God has abundance available
II Kings 7 tells of a time when the enemy gathered around Samaria besieging it until there was no food in the city. Elisha said, "Listen to God's word! This time tomorrow food will be plentiful. But the King’s attendant said, "You expect us to believe that? Are trapdoors going to open in the sky and food tumble out?" Then Elisha said, "You'll watch it with your own eyes, but you will not eat so much as a mouthful!"
Sure enough, the next day lepers on the outskirts of the city took a chance and visited the enemy’s camp, finding it deserted but loaded with plenty of food and valuables. But the starving citizens trampled the unbelieving attendant as they stampeded through the gates. Because he didn’t mix faith with the word of God, he didn’t partake of the provision.
Some good advice to follow from Job 5:8 & 9 in the Message Bible on what to do when we need help from God, "If I were in your shoes, I'd go straight to God, I'd throw myself on the mercy of God. After all, he's famous for great and unexpected acts; there's no end to his surprises.”
